Frank Langella's status as one of the most highly regarded actors of the American stage was well-deserved, as his grand presence earned two Tony Awards by the time he was 30 years old. During his career of 75-plus stage plays and three dozen films, Langella, with his penchant for bold, romantic leads and chilly villains, was entrusted with such classic characters as Count Dracula, Sherlock Holmes and Cyrano de Bergerac. His awards include the Obie Award for Distinguished Performance in John Webster's The White Devil (1965), a Tony for Best Leading Actor in a Play for Frost/Nixon, and two Tonys for Best Featured Actor in a Play, for Edward Albee's Seascape (1975), and Ivan Turgenev's Fortune Fool (2002). He also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance as Richard Nixon in the film Frost Nixon (2008). Langella was nominated for two other Best Leading Actor in a Play; first in 1978 for the Edward Gorey designed revival of Bram Stoker's Dracula nd again in 2004 for Stephen Belber's Match. He gave a tremendously villainous performance as a duplicitous White House chief of staff in "Dave" (1993).
